“Who would you invite to your dream online call and why?”
Online and distant teaching is no longer a concern for the future. It has been part of our life for
some time now. Interactions with students took place through messaging platforms, emails, and
video calls. It WAS and still IS challenging, for students and teachers equally.
As a teacher I struggled to find ways to meet my student´s goals, to support them and to pull through a very difficult time. I have tried to rise above the negatives of online teaching, searched the web widely and in an endeavour to provide a variety of teaching materials and resources, I came across an interesting project of Oxford University Press (OUP) – “Who would you invite to your dream online call and why?”
Some of my students immediately latched on the opportunity to answer the question and created wonderful video responses. I was curious to find out and learn about the personalities they were about to introduce, yet I ended up being overwhelmed by the originality and uniqueness of my students. They took the time to present themselves in totally different light. Every single one of them managed to distinguish their personality, hopes, dreams and even their curiosity in a different and fascinating manner.
I am proud of my students. They serve as an inspiration for others. Have a look and find out yourself. You never know what “kids” can teach you.
